Mistress of the House: Helena Bonham Carter Will Be Madame Thénardier in Les Miz Movie
Posted by Claudia on February 9, 2012 under Articles,News & Rumors with 0 comments
As for Madame T’s husband and partner in crime, Thénardier, who moves from innkeeper to bandit over the expanse of the Victor Hugo tale, Mackintosh was keeping mum on Feb. 8. Filming under director Tom Hooper (“The King’s Speech”) begins in London in March.
“You can print the most reliable rumor,” Mackintosh said with a laugh, skirting an official announcement of the rumored-in-negotiations Sacha Baron Cohen (“Borat”). “I don’t think they’ve been announced yet, so I’m being slightly cagey, but I know who they are! They’re a wonderful couple. I just can’t tell you if everything is signed! Actually, I can tell you that certainly Madame Thénardier is Helena Bonham Carter. I can tell you that. Which isn’t shabby. We have the most amazing cast, now we have to make a bloody good film. I have every hope we will.”
A two-time Oscar nominee, Helena Bonham Carter was Academy Award-nominated for her work in “The King’s Speech” (Supporting Role Oscar nominee) and “The Wings of the Dove” (Leading Role Oscar nominee), and appeared in the films “Fight Club,” “Howards End,” “A Room With a View,” “Alice in Wonderland,” “Big Fish,” “Hamlet” and many others.

Helena Bonham Carter Honored by the Queen
Posted by Claudia on January 29, 2012 under Articles with 0 comments
British actress Helena Bonham Carter has made a career out of playing quirky characters on the big screen. However, her role in The King’s Speech caught her fans by surprise, one in particular—her Queen. So much so, in fact, that it is winning Helena one of Britain’s highest honors.
Bonham Carter was every inch a queen herself in the movie that took Oscar gold last year. Although Helena didn’t capture an Academy Award for her portrayal, clearly Queen Elizabeth was still impressed. Helena’s name was one of only a handful posted on a very important list for the Commander of the Order of the British Empire, or CBE for short.
Other recipients for the first half of 2012 include Australian performer Ronnie Corbett, Oasis’s Liam Gallagher, writer Clive James, successful record producer Steve Lillywhite, and creator of the popular game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Paul Smith.
David Harewood, who played in the film Blood Diamond, received the Member of the Order of the British Empire, or MBE. TV executive Peter Bazalgette reached knighthood for brining Big Brother to the United Kingdom.
The coveted honors list is only posted twice a year by her majesty, Queen Elizabeth of England. It’s purpose is to recognize excellence and service to Britain and its people. Clearly, Helena Bonham Carter qualifies!
Today, we are striking against censorship

From 8am to 8pm EST time, this site will be on blackout. We are supporting the SOPA & PIPA Strike.
Join the cause, it’s for the good!
I am writing to you as a voter in your district. I urge you to vote “no” on cloture for S. 968, the PROTECT IP Act, on Jan. 24th. The PROTECT IP Act is dangerous, ineffective, and short-sighted. It does not deserve floor consideration. I urge my representative to vote “no” on SOPA, the corresponding House bill.
Over coming days you’ll be hearing from the many businesses, advocacy organizations, and ordinary Americans who oppose this legislation because of the myriad ways in which it will stifle free speech and innovation. We hope you’ll take our concerns to heart and oppose this legislation by voting “no” on cloture.
